This is a rolled edge bowl made from Poplar, with a pyrography embellishment. The imagery was inspired by the English tale of 'The Lambton Worm'. The Dragon and Fish have been subtly coloured with Gilders metallic paste and it is finished with the Beall Buffing System. WxH 250mm x 80mm

A trifoot Asian style pet ashes keepsake urn. Turned from Macrocarpa with basket weave style pyrography and apple burl “Torii gate” cross piece. The box stands 130mm x 120mm wide. Concept and design inspired by Troy Grimwood and exhibited with his permission.
This Commissionaire style box is adapted from a Chris Stott design. Here made from olive wood, possibly a tree planted by Logan Campbell in 1880, 140 mm high, finished with wax.

Caratacos is an original male Celtic name, Derived from the Celtic element car meaning "love". This was the name of a 1st-century British chieftain who rebelled against Roman rule. I have chosen this name to show the strong male influence in the design of this 3 piece writing gift set. The timber used is NZ Rewarewa with NZ Tanekaha. The hardware is 24cart gold and Rodium. The display box is Rose wood.
Turned from Copper Beech, lines burnt with pyrograph, textured with a round burr and airbrushed with Golden acrylic paint 165mmdia x 215 high. Finally finished with lacquer.
This vessel is made from a young Puriri tree, native to New Zealand, it shows some of the sap wood in white that contrasts with the natural dark brown of the main tree

Widest dimensions: Base = 110mm (hollow Taiwan cherry inverted vortex shape); hollow form = 120mm (spalted maple), ring around hollow form = 120mm (Kauri). Height = 495mm. Spindle and finial are Gardenia with Tasmanian blackwood connections at top and bottom of hollow form. Spindle, finial, and connectors colored with Baroque antique gold guilders paste. Skytower is made from eight separately turned pieces.
Evoking earth’s movement. Flowing volcanic curves. Beneath thin crust, magma voids wait to erupt forth. Carved feet symbolise tectonic movement. Timber: Apricot. Approximately: 175 mm diameter x 160 mm height.

Tui sculpture is 580mm high, carved from Tupelo wood. Brass/epoxy legs, glass eyes, individual feathers burned using pyrography pens and painted with Acrylic paint. Magnolia base and drift wood stand.
